Give It up to Green Credit Card Deals in Asia!
Environmental problems grow more and more acute. And the health of our planet causes not just ecologists' concern, many people all over the world try to make a contribution to saving the Earth. Some make donations, some join the Greenpeace movement, others choose green credit cards, designed especially for those who care.
Green credit cards help to fund environmental projects dedicated to reduce carbon emissions, and other nature preservation-oriented projects. Green offers became extremely popular with U.S. credit consumers. Last year they yielded only to Capital One's Card Lab on '07 credit card bestsellers charts. Soon Asian credit card holders will also get a chance to contribute to saving environment.
This month HSBC bank is launching a green credit card program for Hong Kong residents. Green credit cards were not available for Asian customer before. However, HSBC is confident about such deals success in Hong Kong. There are a lot of people who are concern about environmental problems in Asia. The donations of the newly developed HSBC Bank credit cards green program for Hong Kong citizens will go towards HSBC Green Roof Schools program.
Only environment-friendly materials will be used to produce these cards. The bank is planning to use electronic billing system in order to reduce paper consumption. 0.1% of purchases made with green credit cards will be donated to the arranging of green outdoor classrooms for some of the Hong Kong school students.
The green plastics will combine the features of charity credit cards and rewards credit cards' perks. The Asian customers will benefit the most making purchases at merchants who sell environment-friendly services and products. But green credit card holders will also be rewarded for their regular shopping sprees at certain retailers. Green credit card offers will help Hong Kong inhabitants to save money through a beneficial rewards program.
It is no secret that nearly every Hollywood celebrity is engaged in dome charity. Bono fights against poverty, and the spread of AIDS, makes donations to Debt AIDS Trade Africa, and to other charity organizations. Some stars establish their own charity foundations for different good causes. Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the environmentally conscious celebrities. He fights for environment protection. He drives a gasoline-electric midsize hybrid car, and lives in a solar-powered house. He visited the official ceremony of the green credit card launch. He showed his support to HSBC's "green" initiative.
Hong Kong residents will be able to fill out these new credit card applications in early April. HSBC representatives highlighted the importance of this new project of launching green plastics in Asia. The credit card issuer shows their concern about the ecological situation in the world. They are set on spreading "green" ideas all over the world, not just in America.
Hong Kong residents are looking forward to get a chance to make their small contribution to the saving of the planet. Some of them are even ready to cancel their best credit cards to use new green offers on a regular basis. No wonder, Eastern people are more ideological and less money-oriented that Western people. But, actually, it makes no difference what part of the world you live in, if you really care about our planet's ecological health, you will find a way to change this world for the better.

Sometimes credit card issuers surprise me. They issue plastic money, talk about numerous advantages and conveniences of using credit cards, aggressively advertise credit products on every corner. But together with that, nearly every credit card deal has a cash advance option. This contradicts the conception of plastic money.
To talk seriously, it is pretty clear why card issuers offer such an option to their customers. People still do need cash at times. Of course, these days, plastics are accepted almost everywhere. But imagine your credit card with credit available does not get accepted. What would you do? Right, you would want to take a cash advance.
